"Du darfst keine Sonne sehen Mama"
Im Rahmen der Frauenkampftage Thüringen und als Abschluss-Präsentation meines freien Projekts des WS 2016/17 an der Bauhaus Universität Weimar, hielt ich am 24.2.17 im Frauenzentrum Weimar, einen performativen Vortrag über "feministische Mutterschaft".
Dieser behandelte eigenen Erfahrungen die ich als Mutter gemacht habe, sowie einen Exkurs zu historischen Mutterbildern. Beide Seiten habe ich sowohl bildliche als auch sprachlich gegenüber gestellt. Die Darstellungen (eigene Fotografien und Bildmaterial aus eigener Recherche) lies ich von einem Overheadprojektor, an ein im Raum gespanntes weißes halbdurchlässiges Tuch, projizieren. Sprachlich nutzte ich, um deutlicher Akzente zu setzen, als Hilfsmittel eine Loopstation.
Im Anschluss fand eine Gesprächsrunde statt.

As part of the Women's Fighting Days Thuringia and as a final presentation of my free project of the winter semester 2016/17 at the Bauhaus University Weimar, I held a performative lecture on "feminist motherhood" on 24.2.17 at the Women's Center Weimar.

trage es, es ist doch ein Tragling und ich möchte das nicht in so nem Ding.
Das
Ding heißt Kinderwagen und ist für meine Mutterseele nicht zu ertragen.
Ich
trage es Kilometer durchs Land, sogar bis zum Strand.
Ach,
die Rückschmerzen gehen schon wieder weg, da geh ich zur Massage dann bin ich
wieder keck.
Ich
mach die Wäsche, ich koche und wasch ab, alles ganz prima trap trap.
Hier
und dort und überall was los, das finde ich total famos.
Ganz
neu, riecht so gut wie Heu. Ich will jetzt erleben und beben, auf der
Tanzfläche, im Projekt. Ich finde alles ganz nett. Ausstellung hier,
Ausstellung da, na prima läuft doch alles ohne tatütata.
Ich
werde aufjedenfall allem gerecht das ist doch das Super-Mother Geflecht.
Ich
seh gut aus und bin schnell wieder fit, es einfach der absolute Hit!
Ich
kann alles, ich bin sehr froh, in der heutigen Zeit, da gibt’s doch überall ein
„ Oho“ "

I want to experience and tremble now, on the dance floor, in the project. I think everything is quite nice. Exhibition here, exhibition there, everything works just fine without tatütata. I will certainly do justice to everything - that is the Super-Mother Weave. I look good and I am quickly fit again, it is simply the absolute hit! I can do everything, I am very happy, in this day and age, there is a " Oho" " everywhere.

This Study Room Guide on Live Art and Motherhood features fourteen individual artists and two artist collectives working in the mediums of Live Art and performance around the topic of the maternal. Motherhood and the maternal are difficult terms. There is an inherent essentialism and biology is often assumed. For us, motherhood refers to the lived experience of mothering regardless of our route to it, whereas the maternal refers to the study of and representations of motherhood. All of the contributors in this volume are mothers but we hope this volume is of interest to both those who have cared for children and those who have not, after all, we all have direct experience of being m/othered. We are all first of all natals before we are mortals (thank you Hannah Arendt).

"RAVEN“ explores the meaning of „Rabenmütter“,
a German term, which has
been synonymous with bad motherhood for centuries. Consciously using
this term for reinterpretation, STILL HUNGRY makes displeasure visible
and reveals the uncomfortable dark sides of their own motherhood to
encourage people to break with conventions and talk about
contradictions.
Climbing out of their comfortable nest they will adventurously go on unconventional flights - with or without regrets, but loud and visible!
STILL HUNGRY is a contemporary circus collective from Berlin. The three mothers Romy, Anke and Lena have united after years of friendship to create a piece far from the classical circus. Their work is fresh, feminist and powerful. The experience for the audience is moving, honest but also very amusing: They use strong images, a versatile language of movement and never forget their humor.
For the creation of RAVEN they work with the performance artist and director Bryony Kimmings, who is known for her emotionally intelligent, provocative and refreshing style.

Worum geht es?
Heute
sind die Rollen nicht mehr so klar verteilt wie damals, als unsere
Mütter so alt waren wie wir. Wir stellen fest, dass die heutige Zeit uns
vielfache Möglichkeiten der Entfaltung bietet, aber uns dadurch auch
permanent überfordert und infrage stellt. Wir sind nicht nur Mütter und
Hausfrauen, sondern wollen und müssen auch arbeiten, um das finanzielle
Auskommen der Familie zu sichern, aber trotzdem sind wir in der Pflicht
auch den Alltag, das Familienleben zu organisieren und lebendig zu
gestalten. Unseren Kinder soll der Weg zu selbstständigen, möglichst
hochschulfähigen Wesen geebnet werden in einer zunehmend medialisierten,
globalisierten Welt, unsere Ehen wollen wir frisch erhalten, unsere
Eltern im Alter liebevoll begleiten und noch dazu wollen wir uns selbst
verwirklichen. Kann das gelingen? Das ist eine der grundlegenden Fragen,
die uns während der Arbeit begleitet haben.
